After the massive success of Dhurandhar, expectations around its sequel have grown tremendously. The film, directed by Aditya Dhar and headlined by Ranveer Singh, emerged as the biggest box office success of 2025, both commercially and critically.

Naturally, all eyes are now on Dhurandhar 2, especially amid reports of a major box office clash.

Dhurandhar 2 Release Date Likely to Remain Unchanged

Dhurandhar 2 is currently scheduled to release in theatres on March 19, a date that puts it in direct competition with Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, starring Yash.

While social media speculation suggested that the makers might postpone the sequel to avoid the clash, recent reports indicate otherwise. According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the filmmakers are firm about sticking to the announced release date.

A source close to the production reportedly stated that the March 19 release is “final and irrevocable,” adding that rumours of postponement are unfounded and similar speculation had surfaced even before the release of the first film.

A Look Back at Dhurandhar’s Record-Breaking Run

Released in December 2025, Dhurandhar went on to rewrite box office history. The film reportedly collected ₹1283.5 crore worldwide by Day 45, with ₹989.9 crore coming from India and ₹293.6 crore from overseas markets.

Beyond numbers, the film also received strong critical appreciation, which played a key role in building excitement for its sequel.

Is Vicky Kaushal Part of Dhurandhar 2?

Recent reports also sparked curiosity around Vicky Kaushal possibly appearing in Dhurandhar 2. A Mid-Day report suggested that the actor, who is currently working on Love and War, had shot an extended cameo for the sequel.

However, this claim was later denied by another report from Bollywood Hungama. According to an insider, neither Vicky Kaushal nor his character from Uri: The Surgical Strike is part of the sequel. The source reportedly described the rumours as “outrageous” and urged the media and fans not to treat speculation as confirmed news.

What This Means for the Box Office

If Dhurandhar 2 and Toxic both release on March 19, the clash could turn into one of the biggest box office face-offs in recent times — especially given the massive fan bases of Ranveer Singh and Yash across different regions.

For now, the makers of Dhurandhar 2 appear confident about their release strategy, choosing to face the competition head-on rather than stepping aside.
